About Terry Light
I had a major stroke on November 27, 2007.
Because of some difficulties prior to that time, my general practitioner recommended a neurologist (Dr. Elahi) and he ran all kinds of blood tests. Because of those blood tests, he realized I had the Lupis Anti-Coagulant in my blood system. This all occurred in 2006.
I was warned in advance I ran a possibility of stroke. Medications were prescibed. They were prescribed so I would not have a stroke. I was extremely ignorant about strokes and did not understand the seriousness of the situation. I did not know jack squat.
Now? I would rather have a heart attack than a brain attack.
In spite of its name, the Lupis Anti-Coagulant has nothing to do with Lupis and is not an anti-coagulant. It makes you clot easier than other people.
Because I was so ignorant, one-by-one I stopped taking
the medications because they made me feel dizzy, like a dumb blonde from
the movies (not vertigo). I did not feel I was as smart.
Then I had the major stroke in November. Now I'm really not as smart. That stroke took away function. Before that, I fully recovered from at least one stroke and do not know how many TIAs (transient ischecmic attacks).
About the web, I knew more than most. I first got on the web in 1996 and experienced the "Aha!" moment that you always hear about. I could see the entire web laterally and thought it was the future. I put up my first web site in 1997. I put up realestateabc.com in March 1998 and sold it years later for a lot of money. My partners and I divvied up that money.
For awhile I had savings. Even though I have insurance, medical bills wiped me out.
Anyway, after I sold realestateabc.com, I designed HomeSurfer.com. My partner Tim is doing almost all of the administration for that web site. I cannot participate. The reason why has to do with this stroke. I don't know if I can explain. I'm not going to try because I always fail. Right now, I guess I'm not doing what is most logical. Rationally, I should return to the real estate web.
Disseminating "life after stroke" information interested me more. It took almost two years before I had the ability to put StrokeUSA.com up, but I have always wanted to. To understand, you should probably read the introduction I've written.
StrokeUSA.com does not look anything like what I used to do, so I expect the layout will change as my abilities improve..
